Gyeongdang Head House is the house of Gyeongdang Jang Heunghyo, a great scholar from mid-Joseon Dynasty. The square layout of Gyeongdang Head House is typical of traditional Yeongnam Architecture. It is located 10km away from Andong City Hall (5km from Intercity Bus Terminal), on the way to the venerable Silla traditional house Inbongjeongsa Temple (National Treasure No. 15). It is also Jeongbuin(Lady) Andong Jang Gyehyang’s parents’ home, who wrote "Umsikdimibang", the very first Korean culinary manuscript written in Korean language in the mid-17th. The historied manuscript was written in Gyeondang Head House. The view of the garden changing colors through the four seasons is also magnificent.
